Types of Piezometers

Geosense offers a wide range of piezometers to suit different monitoring needs: The core technology we use is Vibrating Wire Piezometers: A Piezometer has wide use for long-term monitoring due to its durability, accuracy, and low maintenance.

Vibrating Wire Piezometers use the well-proven method of converting fluid pressures on a sensitive diaphragm into a frequency signal.

Multi-point Piezometer Strings allow for multiple Vibrating Wire Piezometers to be connected on a single cable.

High-temperature Piezometers are suitable for the extreme environments of temperature and pressure.

Strain Gauge Piezometers are designed for monitoring soil pore pressure or changes in water level and are also suitable for dynamic monitoring, such as pumping tests.

Drive-in piezometers, also referred to as push-in piezometers, can either be pushed directly into the soil from ground level to the required depth or pushed into the base of a CPT test or drilled borehole.

Pressure Transducers or pneumatic piezometers are designed to be connected directly into hydraulic or pneumatic pressure lines and are typically used to monitor uplift pressures within dams and to enable manual standpipe piezometers to be upgraded into an automated data acquisition system.

Standpipe Piezometers (Casagrande) are a cost-effective solution for groundwater level measurement in boreholes or piezometer wells.

A Water Level Meter is used to determine the water level within a borehole, piezometer pipe or sump.
